ATISBO Local Government with its Headquarters in Tede was created from the defunct Ifedapo Local Government of Oyo State. The Local Government was created in November, 1996 by the then Military Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ATISBO is an acronym of

The Local Government is located in the South-West geo-political zone of Nigeria and it forms one of the 33 Local Governments of Oyo State. It is bounded in the North-west by Saki-West Local Government, the North-East by Saki-East Local Government, the South-East by Itesiwaju Local Government and in the South-West by Iwajowa Local Government. And a population of 110,792 at the 2006 census.

The people of the Local Government are mainly Yoruba.

SOURCES OF REVENUE

Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy in the area and so agricultural produce such as cassava, maize, yam, cashew, melon, sorghum are grown in large quantity in the council area. In fact, ATISBO Local Government is an integral part of “Oke-Ogun” area that is widely regarded as the food basket of the Nation. The appellation was being born out of the massive production of food items, not only for the people in the area but for the entire Nigerian nation.There are over 2000 hectares of plantation of Teak, Palm and Cashew across the eight communities in the Local Government.

The Local Government is also endowed with vast mineral natural resources such as Tamaline, Tantalite, Agates are in large deposit in Budo-Are and Iluku. It should also be noted that ATISBO Local Government is a leading producer of pure natural honey in Oyo State.
